Christie Urquhart Walsh is a certified B.A.T.D. Dance Instructor of Highland and National Branches. She teaches
and directs performances of the Tigh na Creige dance group and has classes from Beginners through Premier performers.
Christie was our Rose & Thistle Award winner for 2007. She has instructed and managed the Tigh na Creige
dancers for many years. A top award winning dancer herself, she and her group perform in many venues, including
a recent performance in conjunction with the Akron Symphony Orchestra. She uses such opportunities to convey information
about the Scottish Culture to those who are not familiar with it. Christie's father is the Chief of Clan Urquhart and
she is the head of that clan in this area. Christie and husband Tim have three daughters and a son, all involved with
the art of Highland Dance.

Recent performances of the dancers include appearing at the Iris Restaurant Burns Dinner, the St. Andrews Dinner put
on by the Scottish American Society, and the Taste of Scotland Event. They also perform yearly at our Celtic Beltane
Festival - this year on May 30th. This is in addition to the many dance competitions throughout the area.
