INFORMATION, ANNOUNCEMENTS

Scottish American Society

Odds and ends - bits of information that might be of interest to those interested in the Scottish Community.

Scottish Country Dancing? Highland Dancing? Interested? (Beginners welcome.) Call Christie Walsh: 330-375-2849 or email Christie Walsh at akronscottishdancers@yahoo.com. You may also reach Christie at: 330-867-1030 or (330)612-1845.

Christie would like to start a Scottish Country Dance Class at the Northwest Family Recreation Center, 1730 Shatto Avenue 44313 - in Akron. She needs at least 8-10 people who would like to come at least twice a month (time and day to be determined) probably a Monday, Wednesday or Friday evening. I'm guessing she won't want to start this until fall.

Refreshments: Ann Douglas Heflin deserves a round of applause for taking on the Hospitality job. You've been great about helping out. She won't need any more donations until next fall, though. Thanks so much to all those who have been kind enough to bring baked goods for the meetings.

Programs: Alex Murray is putting together the rest of the programs for the rest of 2018 and beginning of 2019. If you are willing to give a program or make a suggestion on a topic, drop him an email at: alrisk@AOL.com

Membership: Dave Allison. Membership in our group is free to anyone who wants to join. Donations help pay expenses and enable us to contribute to various Scottish related cultural entities.
Please give anything you can to Dave at any of the meetings or send your check (including your address) to him at 1765 Calvert Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
Suggested donation is $15 single, $20 family. A yearly voluntary contribution of $10 (family or single) is requested, but any donation is very welcome. Checks should be made out to the “Scottish American Society”.
